Directions to the Club

Directions from North Circular Road (for the West)

  • Follow the North Circular Road (A406) from the A1 intersection
  • Cross the traffic lights at Bounds Green Road (the road becomes single carriageway)
  • Stay on the A406 until the next traffic lights, at which the A4406 turns right.
  • Go straight across these lights
  • Follow this road across a mini roundabout
  • At the traffic lights go straight across
  • At the next mini roundabout go straight across
  • Pass Southgate College on your left and you will approach a roundabout by Southgate Tube Station.
  • At this roundabout take the first exit (you will be driving along a shop infested high street)
  • Keep going for a couple of miles or so across any lights and mini roundabouts until you reach a large roundabout, just before which you should see the Chicken Shed theatre on your right.
  • Go straight across this roundabout follow this road until you pass Cockfosters Tube
  • Station and an entrance to Trent Park (both on your right)
  • Keep going for another mile or so until you reach a mini roundabout with a turning on the right; the entrance to West Lodge Hotel is just in that road.
  • Take that right turn, (pass the hotel entrance which is immediately on your left)
  • This is a winding country road; follow it for 3 miles or so until you reach the end.
  • When you can go no further, turn left at the ‘T’ junction
  • Pass the Royal Chase Hotel on your left and you will be driving through the countryside.
  • You will enter the hamlet of Botany Bay and the first turning that you see on your right is East Lodge Lane.
  • Turn into East Lodge Lane. Googlies is in Botany Bay Cricket Club, the entrance to the which is about 30 yards along on your right (it is a gateway in the hedgerow and is signed)
  • Park and walk along the path to the main building in which you will find the jazz club and the bar.

Directions From The M25

  • Leave the M25 at junction 24 (Potters Bar)
  • If travelling anti clockwise, take the first exit from the roundabout at the top of the slip road, this takes you on to ‘The Ridgeway’ (signed A1005 to Enfield).
  • If travelling clockwise, take the third exit from the roundabout, this takes you on to ‘The Ridgeway’ (signed A1005 to Enfield).
  • Follow the road for about three miles and you will enter the village of Botany Bay; BEWARE A SPEED CAMERA AS YOU APPROACH THE VILLAGE.
  • In the village you will pass a pub on the right called ‘The Robin Hood’ just after which there is a turning on the left called ‘East Lodge Lane’
  • Turn left into East Lodge Lane.
  • The entrance to the cricket cub car park is just 30 or so yards along on the right.
  • The Jazz Club is in the pavilion that is some 70 yards away at the end of the path.
